My Credit Card

Having a credit card is my hope and I applied for American Express a few years ago, thinking that I enjoy the convenience and benefits of a credit card. However, little did I know that it is a card that is not widely accept here in Singapore. Many shops and places do not accept American Express. Thus it is like this picture. Although I have it, the credit card, I see it, but I cannot use it — I can see the gazebo, but it is so misty and far beyond my sight and reach.
Do you know that there are so many types of credit cards? These are the types of credit cards: Airline Credit Cards, Balance Transfer Cards, Business Credit Cards,Cash Back Credit Cards, Credit Cards for Bad Credit, Instant Approval Credit Cards, Low Interest Credit Cards, Prepaid Debit Cards, Reward Credit Cards and Student Credit Cards.

My only credit card which I have now is American express. I don’t consider it a credit card. Why? It is not accepted widely! Not all shops or places accept American Express. So sometimes I need to ask them whether they accept the card a not. I want to order Pizza Hut deliveries. I have no cash at home. The Pizza Hut Customer service told me they don’t accept American Express.
Recently I had a call from American Express, saying that I can get a gold card from them. As long as I told them I am not working, the lady said ‘thank you’, and ask for referrals. I do not have gold card. I only have a classic card. But even that, not everywhere accept American Express like what visas and mastercards do! Thus, I think it is still better to have a visa or mastercard. What I have is as good as don’t have. I hope that more places will accept American Express.
