God’s Revelation
By peace | October 7, 2007

It is believed that God has communicated with man at various times and in a variety of ways. He has taught us how he wants us to live too. As Catholic, we believe that God is very close to us even if we fail him sometimes. We believe that he is infinitely merciful and forgiving; he forgives all our sins whenever we sincerely repent of them.
God reveals himself in Creation. Jesus told his disciples,”Think of the flowers growing in the fields; they never have to work or spin; yet not even Solomon in all his regalia was robed like one of these. Now if that is how God clothes the grass in the field… will he not much more look after you, you men of little faith?” ~ Matthew 6:29-30

God reveals himself through the men of the Old Testament. Other men depended on creation alone for the knowledge of God. This led to false ideas so that men often ended up in worshiping creation itself. But God led the Hebrew people to a unique intimacy. This special revelation began, it may be said, with the call of Moses(about 1250 B.C.) when God revealed his name,”I Am Who I Am.” ~ Exodus 3:1-15
God reveals himself fully in Jesus Christ. The apostle, Philip, said to Jesus,”Lord, let us see the Father and then we shall be satisfied.” And Jesus replied,”To have seen me is to have seen the Father.” ~John 14:9
