Light In Your Cave

By peace | March 5, 2010

St Anthony Church, First Sunday of Lent, 21 February 2010

This photo above shows St Anthony Church during first Sunday of Lent on 21 February 2010. The theme for that week was Holes In Your Cave as can be seen in the photo.

Three times, the ‘humming bird‘ came to my house — two times at the window grilles and another time at the door gate. The first time was when I was posting about my ‘Isaiah Dream‘. The second time, it was reading a some post about the church on the internet and the third time, I was reading the church’s bulletin/St Anthony’s Voice.

On several occasion, I wanted to write about the Church Wardens, but I have no time. I am really so tired, everyday toiling, everyday no rest…

St Anthony Church, Second Sunday of Lent, 28 February 2010

This week, Isaac was sick. But on Sunday, we still went to church as the children had to attend catechism and Isaac’s fever was better. We did not attend the usual time mass, but attend evening mass instead. But we still sit at the same pew at the back of the church.

As usual, we were early in the church. We had meeting with father Terence at 4pm. It was a ‘odd’ timing because the children finished catechism at about 3pm. So we had to wait in the church for one hour. The children had to wait about 2 hours in the church.

The theme for second week of Lent is Light In Your Cave as shown in the photograph above. I saw it when I was walking around the church with Isaac, waiting for the children (while they attended classes).

I was very tired during the evening mass, having to look after Isaac all day long, and now having to concentrate (to focus/listen to the readings as well as take care of Isaac). At the church, the church wardens were different from the usual ones. These were mainly males this time. It was a long day in the church (since the time we sent the children to Catechism). Poor Isaac was with us all day long.

In the evening, he would have slept if he’s at home. He would have taken his bath. However, he was all dirty and he was not feeling comfortable also knowing that he was not at home. In the church, he did not sleep at all. He is trying to learn at this stage of his development. He is so curious in everything…

As soon as the church bell rang, the people stood up to sing the entrance hymn, he clapped his hands, and was so happy. Is this kind of noise acceptable? I cannot possibly stop him from doing all this actions. He also babbled as though he was singing! After the singing stops, whatever sound he made, all his babbles, could be clearly heard. I gave him some biscuits (his milk feeding time was drawing near).

Again it was Gospel time, father Terence was reading and then telling us the sermon. The church warden said,”No eating in the church.” The church warden said,”bring the baby to the crying room.” This time, I told the church warden,”The room is very noisy! I cannot even hear anything!” He walked away, and I did not know what father Terence was talking already. My peace was broken. I was listening attentively and multi-tasking (caring for Isaac and listening to the word of God) but was greatly disturbed and perturbed this time…
