Third week of Lent at St Anthony Church: What Is In Your Cave
On the way walking to the church, I looked up to see the bird nest when we past by the tree. I saw the bird nest is still high up above the tree. This time, a yellow leaf was stuck at the bottom of the bird nest…
At the church, the theme for this third week of Lent was “What Is In Your Cave“. I did not want to take out my handphone to capture any photograph. I would come back later to do so…
Third week of Lent in the church was a rather smooth one, for the first time. No church warden approach me at all. My family was sitting at the second pew this time from the back this time. In front of me was a young couple with a baby slightly bigger than Isaac. The man was carrying the little girl. The wife made milk for the baby girl. No church warden approached them at all to say,”No feeding in the church.” (Just my luck and their luck… I was approached for feeding milk and also for feeding biscuits… “caught” twice in the church for each session of milk and biscuit). It’s not that there were no warden around. In fact, two wardens were besides them at the aisle, but they were attending to other people.
The little girl did cry and make some noise (babble) during the mass. It was not a big issue. I can still listen to the mass. But the man was approached by the church warden on the second or third time the little girl make noise (I think is asking him to bring the girl to the crying room). Later on, the man brought the girl out of the church, leaving the wife at the pew. The wife was alone for a long time…
In my case, I fed Isaac milk the moment we reached church. He was very satisfied and contented I supposed and did not make much noise either. From the start of the mass until Gospel time, everything was very well. Father Terence delivered his sermon and for once, I was able to listen to the full sermon undisturbed. Towards the end of his sermon, Isaac was so funny. He stood up and started to clap his hands and seem to look at Father Terence and said,”eh…eh…” He was happy and he had soiled his diapers at that moment. Richard and I decided to bring him to the crying room to change.
The young man did not bring the girl to the crying room. The crying room is very messy and very difficult to walk around. Richard and I brought Isaac to the back of the room where there were tables so that Isaac could laid on the table while we cleaned for him.
Inside the crying room, I could not hear what is going on, but luckily there is a TV screen so words can be seen (but not heard)…
Isaac slept soon and everything was fine after that.
