Farewell Dr Goh Keng Swee
No matter how much money or wealth you have in this world, you are going to leave this world empty handed. You cannot bring your valuables with you along in the coffin. No matter how big is your house, you are going to lie in the coffin, not able to do anything anymore. You cannot do anything at all… not even wear your last piece of clothing yourself…

But over here, we see Dr Goh Keng Swee being dressed his best. This is what the closest kins can do for him to show their last respects to him, to give him the best dignity of life. In his lifetime, he had done great jobs. He was a successful man, but I learned that he had a second marriage…
I had seen my grandparents’ coffins. But I think this coffin must be a very good one here — with fine lining and exquisite decorations… But did he know that he is lying in that coffin? Did he like to lie there? He cannot even hear. He cannot even ask for what he wants once he’s dead…
