God’s Athlete

Photograph of my legs taken in the year 2007
I had not been jogging ever since I was pregnant. The photograph showed my legs (three years ago) taken after jogging at Fu Shan Garden. My legs would feel itchy after jogging for some time, especially in the morning. During the morning, if I was not jogging, my legs would still be itchy if I walked for some distances. The itch would be very undurable!
The above photograph shows my running shoes. This is my only pair of sport shoes or running shoes. I had written at PeaceBella.com that I had good stamina. I was chosen to participate in the school sport’s day too. However, I did not put in my effort to run the race. I did not like competition; but I like the fun that we can get out of playing games.
Photograph of me and my ‘buddies’ at St John’s Island
During childhood days, life was so much more filled with fun time. We ran, we joked, we laughed, we fought and so on… life is so carefree then. Now, childhood days were over — all the fun-filled and carefree days are gone. Now, life is so filled with heavy responsibilities to carry instead!
Photograph of Richard, just finished jogging and sit-up.
This is the man whom I have married. We have three children… Before Isaac’s arrival, we used to go jogging in the garden. Ever since Isaac’s arrival to this world, I can only watch Richard jogging in the garden. Everyday, my life is devoted to the whole family… I am God’s athlete… racing with time, overcoming every obstacles that may come in the way… This is no bed of roses for me…
Richard is always curious about the distance he had run and the number of times he had done for sit-ups. His birthday is coming soon in another two months time. What shall I buy for him? Heart Rate Monitors seem a good choice! He is just so crazy about ‘monitoring his body’! When he was sick, he would measure his body temperature several times within half an hour! If I do not buy a heart rate monitor for him, then I would get a pedometer for him. Pedometers measured the distances covered as well as contain extra features like calories counter, heart rate monitor, MP3/radio and even GPS device! Pedometers are inexpensive, small, easily portable, and can be worn on the wrist or attached to the body readily. This would definitely be of good help to the jogger! I would like to have one myself!
