Spell (Magic)
By peace | March 11, 2011
Magic is the claimed art of altering things either by supernatural means or through knowledge of occult natural laws unknown to science. It is in contrast to science, in that science does not accept anything not subject to either direct or indirect observation, and subject to logical analysis, whereas practitioners of magic claim it is an inexplicable force beyond logic. Magic has been practised in all cultures, and utilizes ways of understanding, experienced and influencing the world somewhat akin to those offered by religion, though it is sometimes regarded as more focused on achieving results than religious worship. Magic is often viewed with suspicion by the wider community, and is commonly practised in isolation and secrecy. Modern Western magicians generally state magic’s primary purpose to be personal spiritual growth, many seeing magic ritual purely in psychological terms as a powerful means of autosuggestion and of contacting the unconscious mind. Modern perspectives on the theory of magic broadly follow two views, which also correspond closely to ancient views. The first sees magic as a result of a universal sympathy within the universe, where if something is done here a result happens somewhere else. The other view sees magic as a collaboration with spirits who cause the effect….
This morning, my dream ended at a place, a home, and in this person’s home, we were looking at a piece of artwork with Chinese name written on it. Some people were praising the beauty of the name. As I listened and watched these people, and being conscious of where I was, I was amazed to find that I was at the home of my paternal grandmother’s house (Boon Lay, Blk 209). The new being written was in Chinese and I don’t know how to read. However, someone told me that it was “Miao Ying” (妙鹰)but what I saw in the dream contains 4boxes like the word tian (田). So which “Miao Ying” is it? Was it 秒鹰, 苗音,or some others… Anyway, it is the name of my paternal grandmother!
A very scary dream that involves spells… Toto involved… I was so scared and cried. In this dream, such a realistic dream, my emotions were stirred and I was so much wanted to cry at times. Toto and Me went to a jetty (a long bridge that led to some water surrounding a tree). We went forward and began sitting down, soaking our legs in the water. Isaac was on my lap. After we had decided to go, I discovered that my expensive shoes were gone (someone had replaced it with a black stripped lady slipper). I did not want to wear that…
Next, it was Patrick who drove the car. We sat tightly behind him who drove so fast…
Speaking about Spells, reminds me about charms and witchcrafts …
Anyway, such things are still considered magical and I had seen a miraculous magic one day at Fu Shan Garden. It was the third year apparition anniversary. Richard and I were heading to 888 Plaza to buy groceries. Everyday, I did not notice any algae growth growing on the rubbish bin surface as shown above. For the first time, I took notice of the bin. From far, I could see the surface of the rubbish bin full of green algae (refer to second photograph).
Walking to the cross roads (refer to first photograph), I saw the cleaner clearing the rubbish bin. He talked to me and I stopped by. I noticed that the rubbish bin was similar to the one that I had seen earlier from afar. The surface of the bin was covered with algae. Next, the whole rubbish bin contains ants crawling around, lots and lots of ants. The poor cleaner had to do these job of clearing the bins and putting new black plastic bag. While talking, he told me that he found money. Next, he showed me the money. It was a five cent coin. He wanted to give me, but I asked him to keep himself. Who would throw a 5 cent coin in the rubbish bin? Inside the rubbish bin, there is a metal can for rubbish. The five cent coin was outside the metal bin.
After Richard and I came back from 888 Plaza, the rubbish bin had its surfaced completely cleared of algae (refer to the third photograph)!
